PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT WITH THE

The RockRoller concept presents a new method for the placement of high voltage electrical power. This method provides major financial benefits during the construction period and in the operational phase. The safety of the community is preserved and the environment remains untouched to a completely different degree.

REDUCED ENERGY LOSS AND MAINTENANCE NEEDS

Our method of laying cable in the mountains provides a significantly reduced economic cost and thus a higher energy yield for the energy supplier. You get very limited visible interference in nature and the shorter cable lengths provide less expensive cable installation. The bedrock provides good thermal conditions. There is no need for feed pipes and the cable is deployed and secured against short circuiting.

As the cables are well protected in the bedrock, there are very limited maintenance requirements in the operating phase; no trench maintenance, forest maintenance, inspection of lines and masts, etc.

Experience from completed projects shows a cost-effective installation process where material and construction costs, as well as working hours, are all reduced.

FOOTPRINT AND COST CONTROL

Our new method is easy to set up for installation and requires little footprint. There is greater predictability in terms of investment cost and completion times. In many cases it can simplify case processing as it relates to landowners.

INCREASED SAFETY

By laying cable in the bedrock, you avoid working at heights. You get a smaller work area, which again requires a smaller crew and less equipment for carrying out your work. In addition, this limits work in terrain that is previously untouched or prone to rockslides, and the installations are to an increased degree performed mechanically.

INSTALLATIONS SPANNING LARGE DISTANCES

As of today, horizontal drilling is only possible for distances up to a few kilometers. In the future, we will be able to drill horizontally for tens of kilometers. This opens up for great opportunities. In this we encourage relevant players to collaborate on innovation and product development, especially in drilling technology.

INCREASED COMMUNITY SAFETY

We know the natural environment can present big challenges. High-voltage cables placed in boreholes in mountains will remain unaffected by rockslides, avalanches, wind, rain, extreme teperatures and weather, Moreover, the cables are laid with minimal risk of accidents, vandalization and tampering. A safer infrastructure is built, thus safeguarding the safety of the community.

NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR HIGHER REGULARITY

By instrumenting and monitoring the cable routing throughout its life span, we can further increase the regularity of the installation. The equipment is designed for long life, and the installations are all reversible, should any need for subsequent upgrades or maintenance occur.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE ROCKROLLER?

The RockRoller concept is beneficial for power plants, ranging from the smallest to the largest power plants. It provides opportunities for projects relating to development and modification. The concept can be used for line building and projects where cable is to be pulled through boreholes in mountains or through pipes.

If you would like more information or a review of what this may mean for your project, please contact us as soon as possible. This can mean a lot for the outcome of the project!
